Caris HIPS supports the importation of all RESON SeaBat Multi-beam data. Caris SIPS will process backscatter data from Reson SeaBat Multi-beam systems in the integrated HIPS environment to produce registered sidescan imagery. This imagery complements the bathymetric information, providing the operator with the ability to fully utilize the complete collected data.
Automated data cleaning algorithms and wide area visualisation techniques assist the operators to quickly and efficiently validate large data sets. The Combined Uncertainty Base Editor (CUBE) is a major feature of the latest release of Caris and will allow semi-automated cleaning of the complete bathymetric dataset. In addition to high definition bathymetry data processed in Caris HIPS, Caris SIPS will produce high quality side scan mosaic images using Reson SeaBat data.
Caris HIPS includes calibration tools to identify latency and offset errors in the Multibeam system. Once these errors have been identified Caris provides the ability to re-process data with new parameters.
The easy application of tide corrections and re-application of sound velocity corrections allows the operator to apply updated corrections for environmental factors after the survey has been completed.
Caris also provides Quality Control tools that can provide error estimates for all sounding data. 3D fly through capability provides an intuitive and powerful tool for the detection of anomalous data that may not be apparent viewing data in a line based editing environment.
Processed data can be displayed at any desired resolution to meet the needs of the survey task. Multiple surfaces can be created to best aid the visualisation of large datasets or to provide data at a resolution and density appropriate to the task.
